When a prospective homebuyer is pulling up to your home from the street, your lawn is the first thing they will notice. An unkept yard is an immediate red flag: If you do not spend time taking care of your lawn, what other home maintenance has been neglected? This bad impression will stay with potential buyers as throughout the home tour. 

Also,  watch for overgrown ivy. Don’t ruin unruly ivy run wild across the very face of your home, upstaging the beautiful brick facade or freshly-painted siding. Cut it back or get rid of it entirely if you want to drastically improve your curb appeal.

Say goodbye to your garden gnomes and gazing balls. Add your personal flair to curb appeal without overwhelming passersby by accenting your landscaping with one or two lawn decorations.

To make sure visitors love your home, don’t veer too far away from your neighborhood’s style. Small, classy changes to your exterior can give your home a unique taste compared to your neighbors, but avoid clashing.

Give it extra ‘oomph’ by painting it a bold color like red or blue.
